Manufacturing Reinvented with New Developments in 3D Printing

Redstack has been right by our manufacturing clients over the last two decades introducing technology that has revolutionised manufacturing processes.

We are excited to announce that we are now introducing the next phase of 3D printing, creating a reality in our manufacturing clients’ workshops that takes rapid prototypes into functional product in hours, not weeks.

Up until recently, 3D Printers were being used to quickly and cost effectively print manufacturing parts and even though the quality and strength was inferior to traditional manufacturing methods, managers on the production floor were already seeing a future of substantial cost benefits.

Now, Markforged 3D printers are producing products surpassing traditional manufacturing, at a fraction of what they used to cost. And Redstack are partnering with our clients to bring this exciting technology right onto their production floor.

Today, manufacturing has become 23x stronger, 50x faster and 20x cheaper with 3D Printing

Redstack’s partnership with Markforged welcomes the future of manufacturing with printed parts that are up to 23x stronger than standard 3D printed parts, 50x faster than traditional manufacturing methods and 20x cheaper that than machining or casting processes, thanks to new 3D printing technology and 3D printing materials.

If you’re managing cost and revenue along a production line, you will understand all too well what a part breakdown can mean to the entire input and output process. A vital part breaking down can have a huge costly impact, but with a Markforged 3D printer, you can reduce your production line disruption from days to hours – what difference would that make to your bottom line results?

The return in the investment of a Markforged 3D printer can easily be calculated.

The future of manufacturing is right here at Redstack

Markforged produce 3D printers that print with a variety of materials to suit specific applications. Carbon fibre composite makes parts that are stronger than machined aluminium, and metal printers use a variety of metals including titanium, stainless streel and Iconel.

The Markforged range of printers is now available across Australia through Redstack. You can request a sample of a plastic and composite part so that you can evaluate for yourself. Their range includes both desktop printers that fit nicely in smaller spaces or large industrial strength printers intended to do larger scale work.

Markforged’s Desktop Range

There are three printers that conveniently sit on your desktop and use materials including carbon fibre, fibre glass, Onyx and Kevlar:

Onyx One – The Onyx One prints stiff and dimensionally stable engineering grade parts with twice the strength of other 3D printed plastics.

Onyx Pro - The Onyx Pro prints composite parts that are 10x the strength of plastic by reinforcing chopped-carbon nylon with continuous strands of fiberglass.

Mark Two – Step up your manufacturing process to continuous carbon fibre printing with the option to use carbon fibre, fibre glass and Kevlar, creating industrial strength products in hours.

Markforged’s Industrial Range

There are three printers in the industrial range that meet the rigorous requirements of a manufacturing production floor, printing parts previously machined out of aluminium.

Markforged X3 – Carbon fibre and nylon come together to create parts that are 20% stronger then ABS and resistant to many manufacturing chemicals.

Markforged X5 – For load bearing applications that need strength and resilience such as tolling and fixtures.

Markforged X7 – Replaces machined aluminium parts straight off the printer and ready to use in hours, stronger than 6061 aluminium and a fraction of the cost.

Markforged’s Metal 3D Printing – end to end metal manufacturing solution

The Metal X is up to 10x less expensive than other metal 3D printers and up to a 100x less expensive than traditional fabrication technologies like machining or casting. It can produce your parts in hours, not weeks!

The end to end metal manufacturing solution includes not only the metal printer, but the ability to choose between different metals for different parts. The Metal X delivers printing using Titanium, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Inconel and Tool Steel (although some of these are still in the beta development stage).

The technology inside the Metal X is ADAM – which stands for Atomic Diffusion Additive Manufacturing. ADAM is the reason these printers have now come down in price substantially, from $500K-$1M to a fraction of this cost today.
